Landmark plans small-group and private journeys across Africa, with local hosts and trips handled end to end. We started because Africa was never short on beauty, only on travel worthy of it.
When we started, travel to Africa was usually one of two things: a packaged tour that rushed you past everything, or a rugged adventure trip where the place was just the backdrop. If you simply wanted to be there and take it in, there wasn't much for you.
So we ran one trip to Ghana. We kept it slow, spent real time with people, and made sure the towns we passed through were better off for us having come.
It sold out in two weeks. The next one went faster. It turned out a lot of people wanted the same thing we did, so we kept going.
Now we run trips across West, East, North, and Southern Africa, but it still works the way that first one did. Small groups, local partners we actually know, and itineraries shaped by people who have spent real time in these places.
We are not a booking platform or a standard tour operator. We are travelers, experience designers, and local partners building journeys we would take ourselves.
