When to visit
March to May and September to November are the most comfortable, with warm days and cool evenings. Summer is very hot inland at Marrakech and in the desert, though the Atlantic coast stays mild. Winter brings snow to the High Atlas.
Health
No vaccinations are required for entry from most countries, and there is no malaria risk. Tap water is best avoided outside hotels; bottled water is everywhere.
Safety
Morocco is used to visitors and the tourist routes are well worn. Expect persistent selling in the medinas, and dress modestly away from the coast. Check your government’s advisory before departure.
Money
The currency is the Moroccan dirham (MAD) and it cannot be obtained easily outside the country. Cards work in hotels and larger restaurants; the souks are cash, and haggling is expected.
