When to visit
June to October is the driest stretch and the strongest window for wildlife, with the migration usually in the northern Serengeti from July. January and February are hot and clear on Zanzibar. The long rains run March to May.
Health
Proof of yellow fever vaccination is required if you are arriving from a country where it is a risk, including some transits. Malaria precautions apply on the mainland and on Zanzibar.
Safety
Tanzania is settled and used to visitors. Zanzibar is conservative outside resorts, so cover shoulders and knees. Check your government’s advisory before departure.
